Medical Robotics

This page is a new area of focus for us. We intend to begin tracking the latest developments in telerobotics (remote surgery) as they appear on the web. We are also interested in the latest psychological studies on patient psychology and their reaction to robot surgery units, and mobile robotic physician assistants.  In the meantime, here are some links to some of the more interesting telemedicine and robot health care projects .

The HowStuffWorks web site has a good overview of the technologies and techniques involved in making remote surgery a reality.

Integrated Surgery Systems makes a system called ROBODOC, a computer controlled surgical assistant that handles some of the precision drilling needed for making bones ready for prosthetic implants.  It is currently marked for investigational use only status.

We are proud to announce the start of a new blog covering the latest breaking news and exciting developments in the field of medical robotics.  Please stop by, have a read, and leave your comments or your news tips.
